Our Research
The Zheng Lab is a Chemical Synthetic Biology (CSB) lab focused on several key areas in the field of human diseases

Understanding the Crosstalk Between the Microbiome and Cancer Development/Therapy
Our lab applies multidisciplinary technologies (such as biochemistry, biophysics, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, and synthetic biology approaches) to answer two basic questions: 1) how tumor microenvironment metabolism (especially the microbial metabolism of the cancer microbiome) contributes to cancer progression; and 2) how to target and take advantage of tumor microenvironment metabolism for cancer therapy (e.g., immuno-oncology).
